So, I have been coming to this site for years, always checking out the Edwardian Oxfords. They reminded me of a pair of shoes I had as a teenager that I LOVED. I never bought them mainly because of the price but also uncertainty regarding fit. However, I started noticing that women's dress shoes often cost $100 or more AND they were made out of plastic, not real leather. I realized that with a little more saving up on my part, I could get a much better shoe that would last longer.
When I was ordering, I was nervous about the fit. Reviewers kept saying they were really tight and their toes were getting pinched. My foot is a size 8M. I ended up ordering an 8 1/2W. They were roomy with thin tights. I can wear them with socks like men's dress socks and still have a bit of room. I decided not to return them for a smaller size because there isn't much arch support and I'd like to add something to give that support and a bit of extra room will be necessary for that.
I wore them for a day with dress socks and no extra arch support. My feet slid down to the toes of the shoes. The outside edges of my big toes hurt after walking in them at the end of the day, although my toes were not pinched. I think with additional arch support and maybe extra padding at the balls of my feet, it will be a good fit and my feet will not slide down.
Even with the extra adjustments that will be necessary, I really love the shoes and am glad I finally ordered them. They really are beautiful, high quality shoes.
