I got these shoes because they remind me of a pair of old-fashioned leather shoes my father had since the 70s. I have wide feet so I always have to get men's sizes, so I was so happy to see that the women's wide fit perfectly! It did feel a bit stiff but that went away after I broke them in.
This is my first set of AD wide shoes and they're GREAT! I purchased for doing historical events, but these are particularly well suited to the office as well. Very happy with my purchase!
I love the shoes and the boots. High quality leather, they fit like a glove! As with all high quality leather shoes or boots there is a short breaking in period. How long depends on your personal foot. For me, it was about 4 days. The stitching details are perfect. I would recommend anyone wanting a quality shoe for personal or historical reasons to buy here.
I bought the Londoners in blue regular once before the wide was available and went a half size up. They were ok but pretty tight with hose on, esp in the pointed toe area even with the foot petals. My toes were numb by the end of the night whenever I wore them. I sized up more this time so I could wear them with socks as well as hose if I want. I may try some thin insoles as well since they don’t have padding and can be uncomfortable for long wear. I usually wear a size 7 regular in most shoes but for these an 8 wide was comfortable. I was happy to see they are more of a burgundy than a purple since that what I was hoping for with the cherry. I’m hoping for wide in more styles that have the pointed toe so my toes have room to breathe like they do with these. Wide sizes for this style is a perfect solution.
So comfortable. Quickly becoming my favorite pair!
