So I've been reading Jean Hunnisett's Period Costume for Stage & Screen: Patterns for Women's Dress 1500-1800, and recalling the incredible costumes of Elizabeth R (1971), which I saw not too long ago. So much drool! It has made me want to strike up a conversation with a fanciful Elizabethan gown again.

The book makes these complicated costumes seem easy!
