Bernadettes feature our sturdy 2 inch / 5 cm French heel, welted hard-wearing leather soles, pointed toes, and an adjustable lace-up closure, plus all that style with eye-catching contrast stripes on all-leather uppers. Very good quality. Just like described. The tan color is darker than expected. They seem a bit narrow, a bit small. Will have to continue to wear them to break them in some. I do recommend these shoes.
I have problem feet and a love for the vintage look. I thought I’d take a chance and order a pair from American Duchess, fully expecting problems with fit & feel. These shoes are like miracles. Beautifully designed and made, they have not only style, but support and comfort, too. These are just my first pair of American Duchess and are worth every penny!!

I’ve been wanting a pair of Bernadette’s since I watched Bernadette Banner’s video about collaborating with American Duchess to design them. I’m so glad that I finally decided to buy a pair. They fit beautifully and are quite comfortable to wear all day.
I adore these! Right out of the box I was able to wear them around the house and they are infinitely more comfortable than sneakers. I have 63 year old feet which have been through the 1980's pointy-toed 9-West-brutalist shoes, so trust me on this: Comfortable shoes are heavenly and a rare find. I was skeptical, but I am amazed. While I won't mow the yard or garden in them, I will be wearing them in the house to do my housework. Very comfortable.
