Beautiful & buttery soft slippers 🩷🩰

The Brontë's are so lovely to wear, comfortable and flexible on my feet. I did choose to order a half size smaller than normal to make sure they fitted with out slipping off at the heels, which I do find a problem with ballet flats quite often. Especially as I have smallish narrow feet. The 7.5 US fit like a dream and is equivalent to a UK 4 1/2.
I absolutely love the delicate almost neutral skintone pink colour that I've got. I'm looking forward to taking them to Bath this September for the Jane Austen Festival 2025

Lovely, chic, and comfy!

I took my usual size from AD 9.5 after consulting about sizing, and I’m glad I did. They were a bit roomier feeling straight away, but they don’t feel at all too large to me. I normally wear a 9, and only occasionally size up to 9.5, particularly in brands that run narrow as I would say AD does a smidge. I suppose I could try their wide option, but I’ve been happy with my 9.5s and didn’t want to upend what’s working. If you have a lot of extra room normally since you hate pointy toes, perhaps you would want to go down half a size, but I wouldn’t go too crazy with sizing down in most cases.

They look so beautiful—I just love the look of them and their beautiful laces. I often wear vintage or antique-inspired clothes, but I wasn’t looking for them to be super period-accurate (though of course I’m all about Jane Eyre vibes), but rather “work” with a number of different styles (often a bit pre-Raphaelite-inspired or a slightly casual take on Victorian/Edwardian, full fifties skirt and cardigan, etc), and they really are quite effective in that capacity. They’re comfortable for long wear, and since I substitute teach and am on my feet generally, I’m really delighted with that as well.

Beautiful shoe, fits a little large even though I got them in my usual size. Thankfully, it's nothing that shoe inserts can't solve. Still good to be aware of when making your purchase though. Gorgeous craftsmanship and packaging, very prompt delivery. Thank you, American Duchess!

Nice but big

I ordered my usual size and thought they fit ok after trying them on at home so wore them to a ball. During dancing though and wearing them for longer they definitely are rather big despite getting my size and the ribbons slip and get loose. A shame because I probably can't exchange them now because I wore them and they're big. Express shipping to Australia was great though and the regency shoes do look pretty just bummed about the shoe sizing.

It's certainly best to make sure the shoes are a good fit before deciding to keep them and wear them out and about. If you have any fitting trouble, we encourage you to reach out to our team at info@americanduchess.com for advice before you take your shoes out on the town! Even though worn shoes are not returnable, we're more than happy to chat with you to learn more about how and where these feel loo large, so we can suggest some options for making them fit you better.

Stunning

These flats are gorgeous and very comfortable. Their only drawback is that they may slip on your heels if you have narrow heels. This can be addressed with foam inserts or adding an extra loop for the ribbon to go through at the back.
