Alpen Retro Winter Booties are just the fashionable footwear you need for your winter vintage outfits. These booties are based on original Montgomery Ward overshoes, also known as galoshes, but are made as regular boots. We've stayed faithful to the velveteen upper and houndstooth lining, opting to use ethically sourced sheepskin trim and leather foxing and heel. These beautiful boots are cozy and practical for winter wear, with rubber soling.

I am a unwavering 7.5 and have never had issues ordering shoes online in the past. I ordered the 7.5 and had to return them. They were out of 8s so I ordered an 8.5 and I'm glad I did! They fit perfectly. Other than the sizing issues, the shoes are gorgeous and the return process was easy. I wish the green shoes came with a white/cream trim option! I will likely buy this shoe in other colors but am hesitant to order other styles until I know if the sizing runs this small with their other styles. If you're looking to order these, do it, but go a full size up!

As many folks look at reviews for sizing guidance, we do have to note that for most folks, ordering a whole size up would not be recommended. Our extensive data analysis of orders and return reasons shows that for most people find that they fit true to size, and when people order a whole size up from their usual size in heels, they almost always return them! Of course, feet are complex objects and everyone has different shapes to their feet, which might explain why your feet in particular might require a size up in some styles. My wife loves these boots and has them in three colors. She finds them to be the most comfortable shoes that she owns and she always gets compliments on how stylish they are.

These are iconic, practical, comfortable (they’re like the heel-flat to me), eye-catching shoes. They are the toast of where I live; most places I go people of all kinds compliment them with delight. They’re durable, day-to-day, and out on the town shoes, they work for any occasion. People are drawn to them and I always plug American Duchess. My gf ONLY wears shoes from American Duchess. 😍
My comment on SIZING: for these, I chose to go my size - 8.5 - and they work with regular socks. They are too tight and don’t work with thick winter socks. It’s not a problem because the shoe itself is warm!
You've discovered the secret of Alpens - you can't wear them out of the house without people stopping you to compliment your shoes! (Seriously, I've advised folks to select a different style to wear if they don't want strangers to start talking to them, lol)
Truly stunning shoes. As a size 11 wide, I have a hard time finding shoes that fit me well. When they first came out the box I thought "How small!", but they fit just right!! They're so elegant and lovely. Would definitely order from here again <3
