Over the years, I've bought far too many designer heels for work, trying to find something comfortable, wearable, and professional. These completely fit the bill. For work trips, they're great for meetings, cocktails, and dinners. For normal life, I can wear them to the office, to dates, and the heel is robust enough to survive cobblestone streets, dirt roads, and piers with my ankles fully intact. I can't even say that for some of my sneakers! I've recommended this brand to friends who are just as shoe-obsessed as I am, and I will provide the exact same feedback here: American Duchess shoes are not true to size. They run small! So I recommend ordering up at least a size (or, if you intend on wearing anything thicker than hose with them, a size and a half). I own three gorgeous pairs of shoes from American Duchess and I've always had to size up, so be warned! But the quality, comfort, and class of these are unmatched. A good black heel is like a good pair of diamond studs: absolutely essential for any wardrobe and completely priceless in their practical usefulness. So many good things to say about these shoes.

I got these, and was very impressed with the craftmanship, however they were so uncomfortable to wear. I thought that maybe they needed to be broken in, so I have kept working with them since I purchased them 2 months ago. However, I just can't stand the way they fit, they really make every part of the foot hurt. Now I can't return them, since I did keep them so long, and am left with an unwearable pair of shoes and some very sore feet.

I find these to be fine craftsmanship, very stylish and surprisingly comfortable.

I've always dreamt of the perfect, comfortable but flattering heel. This is that! The ONLY drawback for me is the leather sole. I didn't realize how much TLC leather soles would need, but the heels are beautiful, comfy, and seem to be holding up great! Just take care of those soles!

I've had these shoes for about two years now and I LOVE them! They're beautiful, versatile, very well-made, and incredibly comfortable. I ordered a size 8 and they fit me true to size without needing any cushioning. The heel of the shoe is well-centered on the heel of the foot to avoid the usual pain that comes with wearing high heels, to the point that I hardly notice I'm even in heels when I'm wearing them. Just last week I went out in these to dinner, came home, walked several blocks, swing-danced for an hour, and walked back without so much as a twinge - the last pair of heels I tried to dance in I had to kick them off in the first twenty minutes!

I got these hoping to have exactly one pair of good-quality formal shoes that know I'll never have to worry about breaking down suddenly or hurting me, and these absolutely fit that bill. I highly recommend these to anyone who's looking for a reliable pair of heels - at this point, AD is the only shoe company I trust to do heels right.
