First off, this...
Now, got that out of the way...
There are more photos to come as we make our way north. :-)
I'm currently on a cruise with Lady Carolyn, going up the West Coast of America, into Canada. Carolyn is an "onboard speaker," and presents interesting talks on the history of wherever the ship is going next - so yesterday's was "The Phantom City of San Francisco," all about the Panama-Pacific Exposition of 1915, and the next is on Astoria, Oregon, the oldest town west of the Rockies.
We've been in costume the whole time, wearing 1940s, 1930s, and 1912/15 all day long. It's made quite an impression on the passengers on board, most of whom are of the older set and are quite tickled by our costumery.
Our first port of call was Catalina Island. We wore 1940s, went ashore and did some watercolor paintings, before scootin' around the island top-speed on a golf cart (Carolyn was driving), what seems to be the only mode of gas-powered transportation on the island, except for the vintage tour buses.
What a beautiful place! Here are some photos from the day...
